| What
is Christianity :
Finding God
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in
and eat with him, and he with me’ (Revelation 3:20).
God actively seeks to reveal Himself and
His love for them to all people. It is easy to feel that God
can't be reached or understood, since we can't grasp Him with
our physical senses. We do understand things that can't be
measured such as loyalty and love because we feel how they
affect us on the inside. God can and does influence people
with inner promptings, but has also revealed Himself and His
purposes more directly.
God created the universe and all that
is in it. A creation full of immeasurably complex design points
to a creator or designer. The DNA strands in a single fertilized
egg contain the coding for a complete creature. To accept
that a sophisticated blueprint that goes on to build its design
is a product of random chance is simply ignoring the evidence.
The inspired Word of God, the Bible, is
a record of God's interaction with and plan for people. The
history of the children of Israel recorded in the Old Testament
is the history of God revealing Himself to people in a way
which prepared for the ultimate revelation of God becoming
man in Jesus Christ. The New Testament records the life of
Jesus and explains why he came to die for us. God walked this
earth as a man, and with his voice and by his actions told
people how they could know God and receive eternal life.
In this life we will never fully understand
God, but we can believe in Him and put our trust in Him. The
most important thing we will ever do is respond to God's offer
of eternal life with Him. This life is a passing moment that
will decide an eternity.
The ABCs of Salvation
Admit your need–
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"
(Romans 3:23).
Believe in Christ–
"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved"
(Acts 16:31).
Commit yourself
to Christ–
"Yet to all who received Him … He gave the right
to become children of God" (John 1:12).
Being truly sorry for your sins, and through
the power of Christ forsaking them, go forth to live for Christ.
He will give forgiveness, power, victory, purpose, the Holy
Spirit, and life eternal!
